Artist Philip Barousse Wishes Dear Friend ‘Happy Birthday’

The Litter is a commissioned painting Philip did for a friend’s mother’s 90th birthday. Irene loves black cats and so became the theme of this piece. The painting features mom and dad cats in the tree with their ten black kittens below, representing Irene’s family. “Love mom’s smile, I think she likes this painting!”

Boo Goes to Hondo

Michael and Melody have been married for 30 years and for their anniversary they always bought a “together” gift but this year Melody wanted to break with tradition. She had held on to Philip’s invitation to his 2014 art opening at the Florence Winery which had a photo of his painting Boo Cat Mardi Gras on it. She fell in love with the painting at the art opening and held onto the invitation to gaze at the picture for 1-1/2 years.

So when their anniversary came around this year — Feb. 2016 she broke with anniversary tradition and asked a for a large print of the Book Cat Mardi Gras painting.
