“I first became aware of Philip Barousse’s artwork a few years ago through his wife Rita, who was one of my colleagues in real estate. I was attracted to his works mainly because of the impressionistic style and the subject matter, as well as the magnificent size of the pieces. The work I own was interesting to me since I take great pleasure in ‘all things Texas’, and what better subject could arouse that patriotism in me than a bull rider and a flag? Apple Pie, the Flag and Cowboys! Yahoo! The piece hangs proudly in a spot of prominence, and is subject to much comment and compliment.”

“This painting really moves me. The fire coming out of the sky reminds me of being a trailblazer. Sometimes, when you pave a new path — there is fire — and you carve out a new path for others to follow. What I like about being a trailblazer is that I get to be the first one to take the first steps on a particular path. I make the path safe and exciting for others. I set the standard.”
